Manchester United return to Premier League action as they host struggling West Bromwich Albion, hoping to pick up from where they left off before the international break.

United’s last match before the break saw a Bruno Fernandes inspired 3-1 win against Carlo Ancelotti’s previously high-flying Everton side. Fernandes added his fourth and fifth goal of the season as well as another assist to set up Edinson Cavani for his first United goal in stoppage time. It was a timely win for the Red Devils with the performance and result slightly easing the pressure on manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

West Brom have started the season poorly, winless after eight games and only kept off the bottom of the table by Burnley and Sheffield United who are the only sides to pick up fewer points so far. The Baggies last game before the break did however show their character as they shut out league top scorers Tottenham Hotspur till the dying embers of the game before their defensive vulnerability presented Harry Kane with the chance to take all three points.

Team News

United will be left to sweat over the fitness of several players with Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelöf and Edinson Cavani all doubts, whilst Luke Shaw is out. Mason Greenwood is expected to come back into the side and there could be a much-anticipated Premier League debut for summer signing, Alex Telles.

West Brom welcome back Branislav Ivanovic, Matheus Pereira and Callum Robinson after recovering from Covid-19.  Hal Robson-Kanu and Sam Field both miss out.
