Brighton will be looking to put the minor blip that they have encountered at the club behind them as they face the Marseille away on the 5th of October. The visitors come off the back of a shock 2-3 home defeat to AEK Athens which dampened the atmosphere around their first ever European game.
When asked about absentees in the pre match press conference, De Zerbi mentioned Pascal Gross as a major doubt for the game and will be monitored till kickoff time.
Rotation was a topic De Zerbi shed light on:
“We are not used to playing so many games in a week. So, we must adapt and change the team every time.” He also believes that the defeat at Villa Park was not because of the rotation.
Solly March, Adam Webster and Danny Welbeck’s fitness will be monitored before the game. Carlos Baleba will get some minutes during the match.
Regarding the VAR incident De Zerbi passed it off as a human error and said that he didn’t really pay attention to the situation.
This will be Seagull’s first visit to the daunting Velodrome and when questioned about the atmosphere created by the home fans De Zerbi said, “We have previously faced hostile atmospheres, we are here to play football. Nothing else matters”.
