Barcelona 2 – 1 Shakhtar Donetsk

Ferran Torres and Fermin Lopez found the net once each in 28th and 36th minute respectively to give Barcelona three points in their Champions League group game against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday.

Barcelona stamped their authority against Shakhtar even without their star striker Robert Lewandowski. Ferran Torres, Lamine Yamal and Joao Felix played extraordinarily well and helped Barcelona to move closer to the knockouts.

Depleted Shakhtar Donetsk tried to snatch the three points from technically gifted Barcelona but were one short in the scoresheet. Shakhtar Donetsk came hard and attacked from the word go in the second half which earned them a goal in 62nd minute which was scored by Heorhiy Sudakov.

Barcelona started off well with a penalty in the 5th minute of the game. Fermin Lopez, looked a serious player for Barcelona attempting to score in the 8th minute but it was well stopped by Dmytro Riznyk.

Ferran Torres scored the first goal of the match in the 28th minute after VAR took a bit of time to allow it. Star of the match Fermin Lopez scored his first Champions League goal in 36th minute and gave Barcelona an unassailable lead at the end of the first half.

Even though Shakhtar tried hard in the second half, they were not up to the mark in the first half which handed out a loss to them in match day three of the Champions League.
