It’s now the men’s turn to show what they’ve got at 20:00 tonight.
Brighton went 2 for 2 in the varsity basketball events last year against Sussex, but can the same be done this year?
The men’s game will commence shortly after the end of the women’s game in Falmer at Brighton’s basketball facilities, so if you’re looking to go to one, why not try both for a fun evening out?
This event is the halfway point of this year’s varsity competition, so teams will be starting to really feel the weight of pressure to achieve the result they need, which can hopefully bring their university to victory.

Brighton is coached by Daniel Reilly, with Casey Wheeler as captain and Mustafa Kasaga as vice captain. Wheeler will not be playing, though, due to a knee injury, along with Jesse Garon, who is off with an ankle problem.
Last October, these two teams came together in the BUCS. On that day, it was the Sussex Stingrays who took the win 78-85. This was the first game of the season, though, so a lot of work has taken place for both teams since then.
Sussex are probably the favourite coming into this, as they are the South Eastern Tier 2A champions for this season with an unbeaten run. They might also be the fans’ favourite tonight due to their entertaining use of social media to keep their followers updated. Don’t discount the Panthers, though, as they have performed well in the league this year, too and have always shown up strong at varsity, so tonight is definitely one you don’t want to miss.
