Morocco held the 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia to a 0-0 draw in the opening game of Group F.
Walid Regragui, who was appointed in August, has yet to see his team concede a goal in the four games he has taken charge.
The first half was tightly contested as both teams struggled to create opportunities.
Morocco’s Hakim Ziyech was the main threat for the African team, and he found the out of form Youssef En Nesyri with a cross. However, the Sevilla striker was unable to head the ball goalward.
Croatia came close to scoring before the half-time break. The first shot on target came from Nikola Vlasic as he slid across the six-yard box after a low cross from Ivan Perisic but was denied by Bono.
Luka Modric also flashed over from the edge of the box but Croatia were unable to break the deadlock.
There were very few chances in the second half, with the best chance coming from a Perisic header from a corner, which was smartly saved by Bono.
The only dampener on the afternoon for Morocco was the injury to Bayern Munich full-back Noussair Mazraoui, who was stretchered off in the 60th minute.
