So, Tom Brady is out of town. For the first time since 2000, the New England Patriots will start the season without number 12 on their roster. Coming off his second big shoulder injury in as many years, Cam Newton has been selected as the man to fill the void left by Brady. However, he’ll have a job squeezing a respectable record out of a team that has been hit hard by Covid-19 opt outs. Among others, Dont’a Hightower, Patrick Chung, Marcus Cannon and Marqise Lee have chosen not to play this year. While fan favourite stars such as Stephon Gilmore, Julian Edelman and Joe Thuney will all return, playoffs look unlikely for a team that hasn’t missed them since 2008.

Record: 8-8. Not a very good roster at all, Hall of Fame head coach Bill Belichick will be able to get this team to eight wins, but playoffs is probably asking too much
