Pittsburgh Steelers
Last season was impressive for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who still managed to go 8-8 even with some shocking play at quarterback. Ben Roethlisberger will be back under centre in 2020, but there are questions about whether he will be the same. Big Ben is 38-years-old and is coming off an injury to his throwing elbow, so you could be forgiven for thinking he won’t. Other than quarterback, this is a pretty solid roster; the offensive line is solid, the wide receiver core is good and the defence is filled with talent. TJ Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick in particular came into their own last season. Overall, the Steelers are a good team and have lots of potential, but if Ben can’t get back to his old self, playoffs may be a bit too much of a stretch.
Star Player: TJ Watt, Edge Rusher
Key Addition: Eric Ebron, Tight End
Record: 7-9. This will be a better team than last year, but it won’t show in the record as they are in a division where I expect there to be two true playoff teams. That said, I would not be at all surprised to see them shatter this prediction and make the playoffs.
