San Francisco 49ers
The losing team of a Superbowl usually find it hard to remain relevant the following year. Last year’s Los Angeles Rams are a perfect example of that, going from the big game to missing the playoffs entirely in a single season. However, the San Francisco 49ers are different. They’re built for sustained success and they still possess one of the best rosters in the NFL. Defensively is where they shined in 2019, claiming the best pass rush in the league with Nick Bosa, DeForest Buckner, Arik Armstead, and Dee Ford along the defensive line. While Buckner was indeed traded this offseason, they replaced him with one of the best all-around prospects in the draft at pick 14; Javon Kinlaw. At cornerback, Richard Sherman was back to his best and, if he hadn’t already, pretty much secured his place in the Hall of Fame. Flipping over to the offence, they have arguably the best play caller in the NFL in Kyle Shanahan. Him, coupled up with George Kittle at tight end, a backfield full of blazing fast runners and a top-10 offensive line makes this team a threat to make the Superbowl again.
Star Player: George Kittle, Tight End
Key Addition: Trent Williams, Offensive Tackle
Record: 11-5. The 49ers will win one less game than last season, but will be no less intimidating to play. They are big Superbowl contenders.
