This will be the first time Denmark faces off against Tunisia on an international stage like this at the FIFA World Cup.
After an impressive run at Euro 2020 making, it to the semi-finals and marginally losing to England after a late penalty, Denmark looks to start off strong in their first game of the group stage and progress.
Manger Hjulmand comments in a press conference “Are we the favourites? No. But we can beat everyone on the day”. With their experience and quality, there is an expectation for them to at least make it past the group stage.
Denmark has been relatively successful in the World Cup and has made it out of the group stages in four of their five previous World Cup appearances. For the Danes to see continued success they will look to rely on their defensive anchor Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and the playmaking and creativity of Christian Eriksen.
Manager Kasper Hjulmand describes just how influential and impact Eriksen is to the outcome of this fixture with comments “Number one, it’s great to have him back. He was the heart and heartbeat of our team.”.
Other than Jonas Wind Denmark doesn’t seem to have any major injuries.
