Under pressure Russell Martin confident on place at Southampton despite poor start to the season and difficult challenge ahead.

Score prediction – Arsenal 3 – 0 Southampton

Key player – Bukayo Saka

The Southampton manager isn’t worried about his position at the club, he stated “I’m happy here, and I hope they’re happy with what we’re doing here too.

Comparing his situation to Mikel Arteta’s struggles seasons ago and the decision to back him, “it’s a real testament to perseverance, timing and clarity”. Martin was quick to mention his previous victories when commenting on media talks, he said “I didn’t pay attention at 25 games unbeaten, and I don’t now”.

He isn’t expecting it to get easier due to “difficult moments at the Emirates on Saturday”.

There seems to be no bad blood between Arteta and Aaron Ramsdale as Arteta mentions he’s “grateful for what he did” and “hopefully he’s grateful as well. He didn’t forget to mention how “it was difficult to deal with that situation in a natural way”. Ramsdale will be trying to prove what Arteta has missed out on.

Arteta believes it will be a challenging game against the Saints as he’s not over the loss of Martin Odegaard mentioning how Arsenal “have to play different” (without Odegaard) and emphasised his importance stating “his impact can’t be replaced by one player”, further saying “we miss him a lot”
