Will Martin be marching in to a job much longer?

Southampton face a tough game this weekend against one of the favourites to win the title this season, Arsenal.

The Saints come into this game second from bottom and without a win and are missing players such as Will Smallbone, Kamaldeen Sulemana as well as goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu who has been out for an extended amount of time after tearing his ACL, Jack Stephens also remains unavailable following his comments towards the match officials after he served his three-match ban for the sending off against Manchester United.

Arsenal however come into this game currently sitting third and only one point off the top of the table and current league leaders Liverpool.

The Gunners also have some largely positive news ahead of this weekend’s game regarding the potential league debut of summer signing Mikel Merino following his brief cameo against PSG midweek, however Ben White still remains out with a slight knee problem so a potential start for returning Japanese international Takehiro Tomiyasu is likely.

Speaking ahead of the game, Martin had the following to say to the media:

“No one is happy that we haven’t won a game yet”

“The only opinion that matters to me is the one of my bosses and the higher-ups at the club”

“These lads don’t give up and I’m proud of them for that”

Also speaking ahead of the game, Mikel Arteta had the following to say to the media”

“Saliba & Gabriel have formed a formidable partnership but it’s important that they as well as the rest of the team maintain high levels of consistency”

“The amount of international breaks is unnecessary but is highly unlikely to change anytime soon”

“You can already feel the tension surrounding us ahead of each game now”

Score Prediction – 5-0

Key Player – Gabriel
