For the first time since their action-packed 3-3 draw in 2023, Arsenal and Southampton face off in a match that could have a big impact at both ends of the table.
Mikel Arteta’s team will look to continue their unbeaten start, whilst Southampton’s 3-1 loss at Bournemouth piled more pressure on Russell Martin.
Martin however stated he was not concerned with noise surrounding his future “I don’t listen to much of it, I didn’t pay attention when we went 25 games unbeaten and I don’t now”.
Whilst also taking responsibility for the Bournemouth defeat. “We watched it and learned as much as we could from it, we lacked in every department but as a leader I have to take responsibility”.
Arteta spoke about the return of former goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, “I am very grateful for what he did. There was a lot of noise when he signed and we helped him. We decided to part ways but I hope he is grateful.”
The Arsenal boss also admitted he has felt the absence of captain Martin Odegaard, “Martin (Odegaard) impacts in everything we do, we’ve had to adapt and I think we’ve found a way but we are still missing him a lot”
Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Southampton
