Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta insists he is “very grateful” for what England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale did at the club as he returns to the Emirates this Saturday.
Southampton goalkeeper Ramsdale returns to Arsenal for the first time since leaving for £18 million. The ex-Gunners goalkeeper played 77 times for the Gunners keeping 27 clean sheets.
The Saints goalkeeper will be hoping to keep Southampton’s first clean sheet in 18 Premier League games , their last being a 0-0 at Old Trafford in March 2023.
The Gunners managed 16 shots on target last time out against Leicester, Southampton manager Russell Martin said “I’m sure there are going to be some difficult moments at the Emirates on Saturday”.
Mikel Arteta said ” he really put his fingerprints at the club” after Ramsdale signed in August 2021 and guided the Gunners back to Champions League football.
Russell Martin stated “we are all frustrated, we all want to be winners”. Ramsdale will undoubtedly be key if winless Saints have any hope of ending Arsenal’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season.
