It is not any other game. Tonight´s game is a final, not only for Madrid but for Borussia Monchegladbach. All four teams have a chance to advance to the next round therefore the importance of winning today.
In order for Real Madrid to pass, they need a win or a draw and wait for Inter Milan to win their game. Zidane´s team doesn´t want to even think about playing the Europa League and has prepared this game as if it were a final.
In the other side, Borussia just like Madrid, they need to win to certify their pass to the next round. But unlike Madrid, they can draw and even lose as long as Shakhtar don´t win their game.
Surely it´s going to be a great battle between both teams.

Real Madrid take the lead and need a second goal as quick as possible. As it stands, los blancos lead their Group and Borussia drop down to the second position of the game.
Inter and Shakthar are drawing at the moment therefore Shakhtar would be the team who goes to the Europa League.

Lars Stindl drives forward the ball and then delivers a through ball to Plea who tries chipping it but doesn´t even go on target.

Benzema makes it two. Another header, another goal for the French.
Once again from the right wing but this time it´s Rodrygo. The Brazilian dribbles past Nico Elvedi and crosses another ball to Benzema who heads it again into the net.
Unstoppable for Sommer who has nothing to do against such a good header.

Borussia desesperately trying to pull one back with a couple of crosses but today Madrid´s defence are very solid.

Stindl takes the longshot. However, the German´s shot is not anywhere close from going on target.

Luka Modric hits the post.
Madrid run through the right wing however they like. This time Modric recieves a low cross and finishes to the Sommer´s near pos but the shot smacked right into the post.

Modric scored an absolute beauty but Varane was previoulsy on an offside position.
The goal came from a cross from Modric which was headed by Varane back to Modric who then striked to the top corner.
The way Modric is playing today is delightful.

Real Madrid take the lead at halftime.
Tremendous first part of Madrid with a brace from Benzema. Borussia Monchengladbach´s left wing looks like a highway. Real Madrid players drive the ball as they most like without any difficulties.
In this instance, Real Madrid would end up as the leaders of the group whilst Borussia would take the second place and Shakhtar would play Europa League if the scoreboards do not change.

Plea pulled one back. However, the linesman raised his flag.
Madrid are lucky as the striker was on a one on one against Courtois.

Borussia are now pressing high in search for a defensive error but Madrid are delighting everone with their play. It will be difficult for the away team to level it up.

Sommer avoids Kroos from extending the scoreboard. The midfielder smashes the ball from the edge of the box right into the right top corner but Sommer flies and deflects it to corner.

Plea has another chance to shorten the score. The ball gets cleared but ends up on Plea´s feet who sends it wide.

Benzema delivered a through ball to Vinicius who is inside the box preferes to pass it back to Benzema instead of taking the shot.

Modric on a one two with Rodrygo who takes the shot from the edge of the box but unfortunetely for the player goes too wide.

Sommer streches as much as he can to Ramos header and the deflection goes to Benzema who then strikes and smashes it into the crossbar.
Double chance for Madrid who are playing like Gods.

Real Madrid advance to the next round and so will Borussia Monchengladbach. Outstanding performance from Zidane´s team who could have scored at least five goals tonight.
Despite the loss, Borussia will sleep comfortbaly tonight as they advance too to the knock out stages.
