Going into the game Real Madrid has been unbeaten since January and are only three points behind Atlético Madrid who are top of La Liga.

Real Madrid will be hoping Karim Benzema will be continuing his fine form this season scoring 23 goals in all competitions. Real will also be missing their captain Sergio Ramos who is injured for the game.

Liverpool haven’t had a good season in the league as they are currently in seventh place. But, they can use the Champions League as a way to recover their season.

Liverpool will be going into the game with some confidence after beating Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates at the weekend.

Liverpool’s new centre backs Ozan Kabak and Nathaniel Phillips will face a huge challenge in trying to stop Real Madrid’s attack.

Previous Game

The Last time the two teams played each other was in the Champions League final in 2018 where Real Madrid won the competition for the 13th time.

In the game the Liverpool keeper Lorius Karius had a shocker, being at fault for two of Real Madrid’s goals. Gareth Bale was able to steal the headlines with an unbelievable bicycle kick in a 3-1 victory for Real Madrid.

Going into the game both teams will be thinking that they can win the tie and go through to the semi-final of the Champions League over two legs. Whoever wins the tie will play either Manchester City or Borussia Dortmund.
