Group F is now left wide open after Belgium failed to impress once again at the Al Thumama Stadium today against Morocco.
Head Coach Roberto Martinez was left feeling disappointed with his team and the manner of the defeat, saying that: “It’s a difficult result because obviously, the first goal affected the outcome a lot.”
The first goal came through a free kick, a scenario they were warned about earlier in the match.
Belgium had already suffered due to defending set-pieces as they were caught out earlier in the match by a similar Moroccan set-piece situation.

Just like in Belgium’s game against Canada, Martinez’s side struggled to take charge in this match and that is what cost them.
Martinez said: “I think we had good moments, but we couldn’t get clear good chances. We only had a couple of half opportunities.”
Belgium face Croatia on Thursday, they must win to have any chance of progressing from the group into the round of 16.
“We need to make sure we get stronger together,” said Martinez.
