West Ham threatened Brighton with a late charge at the Amex Stadium. The game came alive in the second half. But the Seagulls refused to get hammered under pressure, leaving with a hard-fought 3-2 victory. 

West Ham’s awakening in the final half-hour had the home fans worried. However, Fran Kirby came to the rescue, securing Brighton’s third-place spot in the league.

A tense start, “Seagulls!” chants were finally rewarded in the 28th minute. Rachel McLauchlan found Kirby’s assist and scored the opening goal.

This didn’t deter the Hammers who were dominating possession. They pushed hard for an equaliser and went into the second half proving to be a defensive threat. 

Both teams returned with a renewed spirit. Brighton determined to win, their opponents refusing to go out without a fight. 

Kiko Seike led the charge for Albion, finally making it 2-0 on the scoreboard an hour into the game.

However, West Ham was quick to respond, with captain Katrina Gorry scoring two back-to-back goals within five minutes.

So, it was all to play for. With the clock ticking, both teams were desperate to walk away with a win. 

In the 81st minute, the game was decided with Kirby’s goal, sending home 4,680 happy fans.
