Brighton continued their strongest start to a league campaign ever by beating Leicester 1-0 at home on Sunday. The win lifted Brighton above Manchester United and Chelsea to second place in the table.
They started the match on the front foot creating several chances and dominating the possession, something that has been a common theme within the side since new manager Dario Vidosic took charge at the beginning of the season.
Just twenty minutes in, the Seagulls found themselves ahead with a brilliant header from their number nine Nikita Parris following a deflected cross in from defender Jorelyn Carabali.
The ball came into the center of the six-yard box and was headed off the near post and in.
Pariss continued her rich vein of form at home this season scoring her third goal in three starts this season at Broadfield Stadium.
Brighton’s dominance continued in the second half.
Leicester failed to test the Brighton keeper at all recording just 1 shot on goal. The Foxes have only managed to score two goals all season, the second fewest in the league.
Their misfortunes continued when midfielder Sam Tierney was stretchered off in the 68th minute with what looked to be a serious injury.
Leicester moved down to eighth in the table but will look to bounce back against bottom-of-the-table West Ham next Sunday away from home.
Brighton faces a tough test away against Arsenal at the Emirates as they hope to continue to make their presence known towards the top of the table.
