Goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial cancel out an early blunder from Dean Henderson to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side all three points at Bramall Lane.
Sheffield United took the lead with less than five minutes gone after the former Blades goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, took too much time on the ball which presented an opportunity to David McGoldrick to slot the ball into an empty net.
The home side continued to have the better of the opening exchanges as a well-worked move ended with John Fleck curling a shot just wide of Henderson’s near post.
United levelled the scores after 26 minutes as the home side’s vulnerable back line was once again left exposed. A long ball by Victor Lindelöf found Marcus Rashford who took the ball down and provided a composed finish.
Anthony Martial then put Solskjaer’s side ahead as he latched on the end of Paul Pogba’s looped pass and stabbed home into an empty net to claim his second Premier League goal of the season.
With five minutes gone in the second half United made it 3-1 with a clinical move that saw Martial and Rashford combine as the number 10’s second goal of the game made it more comfortable for Solskjaer’s men.
Sheffield United responded well to the goal however and kept the pressure on the visitors throughout the second half as they had the best of the chances.
A late goal from McGoldrick gave The Blades some hope of salvaging a point but United held on the in the end to claim their 10th consecutive away win in the Premier League, a run stemming back to their 3-0 win against Aston Villa towards the end of last season.
