Like the cunning toymaker from a forgotten fable, Bukayo Saka spent the early minutes of this encounter doing what he does best; making fools of grown men. The Reds may call BS when it comes to his brilliance but there’s nothing fake about what this Starboy can do. Only nine minutes in and he had Robertson on strings like a marionette. It’s a Cold Hearted World when you come across Bukayo Saka on the wing.

As the Emirates erupted in a sea of red and white, you could feel Liverpool’s anxiety rise. The Reds weren’t going to lie down and let Arsenal run riot. They’re never ones to fold under pressure, and it was only nine minutes later that Van Djik, ever the stoic Dutch general, powered home a header to equalise. Van Djik leapt like Superman himself, leaving Arsenal’s defence in disarray as the net rippled in slow motion.

Arsenal’s own MM delivered a blow straight out of The Boys. Merino stormed through the Liverpool defence like MM taking on Homelander with a smooth finish from a bullet header in the 43rd minute, he restored The Gunners lead. MM, Jover and The Boys couldn’t have scripted it better.

When it comes to Liverpool, it’s a NeverEnding Story. Enter Salah in the 81st minute. Cruising inside of Arsenal’s half hearted defence like Falkor with ice in his veins and precision in his boots. The Egyptian King punished Arsenal and in one swift motion, he brought Liverpool level and the dream of three points was snatched from Arsenal’s hands in the blink of an eye. Liverpool will have left the Emirates feeling Noid in this Chromakopia world but one thing for sure is Saka is the real deal and the right winger to recognise.
