Son Heung-Min stole the show with a brilliant performance to help Spurs to a comfortable two nil victory over Brentford at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
The South-Korean secured the victory after tapping home Sergio Reguilon’s low-cross into an empty net to score his first league goal since the 17th of October. Harry Kane played a beautiful through ball to set Reguilon away on a counter attack, before the Spaniard played an inch perfect ball for Son to guarantee the three points.
Son was also involved in the first goal when he played a short corner before whipping in a dangerous cross which caused Pontus Jansson to head the ball into teammate Sergi Canos and it deflected into the Brentford net in the 12th minute.
Tottenham had a full week off after their game was postponed away to Burnley on sunday due to adverse weather conditions and it showed as they had much higher energy levels throughout the match.
Oliver Skipp also produced a brilliant performance in the heart of midfield to allow Tottenham to control possession and dominate Brentford.
Hugo Lloris was a mere bystander in the Tottenham goal as Brentford only had two shots on target and neither troubled the France captain.
The North London side now sit just two points off fourth with a game in hand and manager Antonio Conte will be hopeful of getting into the top four positions by the new year.
