In their last match, United lost 1-0 at Old Trafford after a controversial second half penalty. Since that September stumble, Ten Hag’s men have won seven of their last 10 matches.
The Dutch manager will most likely utilise the experience of Cristiano Ronaldo against the San Sebastian side according to BBC. Despite a bumpy start, it’s clear Ronaldo has a place in this side.
“Ronaldo is an important part of this group and a leader type,” Ten Hag said.
However, Real Sociedad will not be an easy obstacle to overcome. On the back of their previous win over United, the White and Blues have won nine of their last 12 matches. They currently sit at first in Group E with 15 points and they show no signs of complacency.
“We will do everything possible to be first,” Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil said to Football España.
