As it may be no surprise who leads the AFC, the leaders in the NFC are relative newcomers to the top of the conference. The Detroit Lions, a team that were one of the worst teams in football a few years ago, are now 7-1 and the number one seed. Head coach Dan Campbell has put his faith in Jared Goff, something that a few teams failed to do, and it’s paying off.
Another team that have been struggling for a few years is the number two seed, the Washington Commanders, who have a 7-2 record. But a change in ownership and a change of name seem to have changed the fortunes of the team from the nation’s capital. Rookie QB and Heisman trophy winner Jayden Daniels is playing his way into the Most Valuable Player (MVP) conversation as well as the Offensive Rookie of the year award at the end of the season.

The Falcons are on 6-3 in the NFC South, with veteran QB Kirk Cousins at the helm. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers sit at 4-5 with the 11th seed.
The Arizona Cardinals sit at the fourth seed spot as the top team in the NFC West with a record of 5-4, and this division is the tightest in the NFL as all four teams are separated by 2 games. The Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers are both on 4-4, with the Seattle Seahawks bottom of the NFC West on 4-5, so all can change over the next nine weeks.
