Germany still last in group E after the substitutes did the job when the game against Spain ended 1-1.

Niclas Füllkrug was the substitute to the rescue for Germany when he smashed the ball up to the top corner behind the Spanish keeper.

The substation Álvaro Morata started it all when he flipped the ball into the goal and scored the first goal of the game after a fantastic pass from Dani Olmo.

Hansi Flick`s team can still make their way to the last 16 when they face Costa Rica in their final game in the group stage, and need Spain to beat Japan.

A scream of a strike from the Spanish team outside of 18-yard box minutes into the game showed the panic in the German defence, but a massive save from Manuel Neuer, kept the teams at the same score after the first half.

Spain controlled most of the first part of the first half and it wasn’t a lot of chances from either of the teams.

Germany had a possession figure of 31.6 precent after the first-half. That is their lowest since the World Cup in 1986.
