The Brighton Panthers’ game against Chichester University after their opponents forfeited the game due to the COVID-19 Omicron variant.
Head coach Oliver Kent was not happy with the match being cancelled, one that was crucial to their promotion hopes.
“We’d had five or so sessions. A couple weeks work had gone into it. We had game planned, knew our opponent well and were clicking on all cylinders. We were really looking forward to it.”
The team plays Kingston next on January 23rd before games against UCL and Oxford in the month that follows. Kent, a former team MVP, was confident of his team’s success going into the rest of the season and beyond.
“They are all going to be competitive teams and we have got to be ready to go into it, focused. It comes down to focusing on yourselves, what you can control and hope it’s good enough on the day.”
