Hi my name is Christian and I will be covering the Isthmian league clash between Whitehawk and Burgess Hill Town. With both teams struggling for form, sitting in 15th and 18th respectively, they will be hoping to take three points away and push them up the table.

With the starting line ups in we get a chance to see who will be featuring in tonight’s game.

The home side, Whitehawk will line up like this.
While Burgess Hill will face them with this team tonight.
A view from the stand only 10 minutes from Kick off.

GAME KICKS OFF at 19:46

5′ – Whitehawk player and captain Henry Muggeridge crosses the ball from the right hand side but he cant find a teammate as the ball goes off the pitch.

7′ – Michael Uwezu, Burgess Hills’ number nine, flicks on a header from a throw in where Lewis Finney then hits it first time going just wide of the left post. The best chance of the match so far.

13′ – After the ball is lofted into the air Taylor Seymour, the man in the Burgess Hill net tonight, collides with a number of Whitehawk players trying to attack the ball resulting on a foul on the GK.

17′ – Muggeridge brings down Lewis Taylor winning a free kick for Burgess Hill as well as the Whitehawk captain picking up the first yellow card of the night.

18′ – Max Miller hits the target from the resulting free kick and makes the GK make a good save.

22′ – Uwezu takes the shot but drags it wide as Lew Unwin applies the pressure and does enough to upset the strikers balance.

23′ – Miller crosses the ball into Connor Tighe who shoots from a narrow angle three yards out with a right foot volley that is brilliantly saved by Whitehawk number one Nathan Stroomberg.

26′ – After a short corner and then a fast thinking one two between Lewis Finney and Tighe, the latter takes it to the edge of the box and hits a curling left foot shot that connects with the bar.

27′ – Around 30 yards out, Adam El-Abd brings down Uwezu, resulting in a free kick.

36′ – Miller plays the ball to Finney who heads the ball towards goal, forcing a right handed diving save, that pushes the ball away. Only for the ball to be sent back across narrowly missing all the Burgess Hill attackers. The ball then finds its way out to Taylor who crosses the ball back in requiring the GK to make another save and tip the ball behind for a corner.

37′ – Javaun Splatt gets to a one on one situation due to a mix up at the back and aims to place it but its saved by the goalkeepers legs.

42′ – Whitehawk move the ball nicely with Splatt laying in Muggeridge with a great pass but again Seymour makes a good save to deny him. This has been a much better end of the first half for Whitehawk.

HALF TIME – Whitehawk 0 – 0 Burgess Hill

After a good half of football Burgess Hill seem to have the edge but have been denied multiple times by Stroomberg; even the Burgess Hill admin is in shock from that huge chance in the 36th minute.

Nicely summed up for a hectic 30 seconds of action.

59′ – Stroomberg gives the ball away with a sloppy clearance to Finney who shoots into an open net from nearly 30 yards out but unfortunately it just goes wide.

63′ – Very slow start to the second half with Whitehawk having a good dominant spell of possession. However Charlie Lambert is able to intercept the ball and drives forward down the right where he then plays in a driven cross which no one can connect to.

65′ – Free kick for Whitehawk on the right hand side of the box won by Muggeridge.

66′ – Omarr Lawson crosses in the resulting free kick but is headed powerfully away.

69′ – Miller is fouled around 30 yards out from goal by Stephan Okoh who picks up a yellow card for a cynical chopping down of his man.

Whitehawk in the red and Burgess Hill in the yellow.

71′ – Whitehawk substitution – Stephan Okoh, is replaced by James Fraser. Okoh has just been booked a few minutes prior.

75′ – Miller cuts a well weighted pass back for Tighe who hits a right footed curler straight at the keeper who parries the ball out for a corner. The Hillians are starting to dominate this game now.

77′ – Jaden Perez is fouled by Whitehawk number three, Luke Emberson who receives a yellow.

78′ – Burgess Hill substitution – Connor Tighe is replaced by Charlie Kelly

79′ – The Free kick following the incident is played in, but Mo Kamara blocks the cross and then further the attempted shot.

81′ – Whitehawk substitution – Charlie Lambert is replaced by Billie Clark

83′ – Reggie Ward hits a right footed shot from outside the area what is expertly tipped over the bar by the GK.

85′ – A slow left footed toe poke from the Burgess Hill substitute, Charlie Kelly is easily collected by Nathan Stroomberg; probably his easiest save of the night considering some of the feats he has pulled off.

88′ – Miller sends in the corner which is headed over by Harry Pollard, as he finds himself free in the box from 6 yards out. Huge chance missed in the final few minutes.

GAME ENDS – Whitehawk 0 – 0 Burgess Hill

After a goalkeeping masterclass Nathan Stroomberg is voted as Man of the Match and I don’t think anyone is the stadium would disagree. Above is a photo of him sharing the achievement with some fans.
