Eastbourne Town’s impressive six goal display was topped off today by a fantastic showing from some of the team’s younger talents as they cruised through to the next round of the Sussex Senior Cup, at the expense of Midhurst and Easebourne. 

The Town took the lead in the 11th minute thanks to a tap-in from Dan Rodgers and that was to be the beginning of the end for the travelling side. Two fantastically taken goals, including a 30 yard screamer from Eastbourne’s top goalscorer this season, Aaron Hopkinson and, a calm through the legs finish, from Aaron Capon took them into half time in a very comfortable position.

The second half of football saw appearances from youngsters Leke Ademola and Fletcher Holman off the bench who have been doing incredibly well for the club at under 23 level, scoring plenty. Four minutes into coming on Ademola showed his class by putting the ball in the back of the net – even if it was on his second attempt. 

Another youngster that started the game, Jack Samways, got his first goal of the season scoring a stunning 25 yard volley before the two substitutes linked up again to make it six. Holman the man scoring this time. 

The pair linked up on multiple occasions afterwards and both had chances to increase the lead even further. Ademola missing a sitter and Holman laughing showing the two know just how good they are. 

Eastbourne Town cement their place in the next round in style!
