Home   /   ZOE Coronavirus App Reaches Over Four Million Users

The COVID symptom study app ZOE now has 4,384,395 registered users across the UK. The app was launched in March 2020 in conjunction with King’s College London who provide the scientific analysis.

The app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play, ranking first on the latter’s store for health apps. Once you have registered your details including location by road only, the app reminds you to log in and report your condition daily.  By combining the reports of users with software algorithms the researchers can track COVID infections across the UK and other countries.

The daily reports are also used to generate new scientific understanding of the different symptoms the virus causes in different people. The research is led by Professor Tim Spector, Professor of Genetic Epidemiology at King’s College London.

The app also allows you to view information on the local infection rate and the surrounding areas. It’s free to use and download and all data is protected by GDPR. It’s a great app to use if you are concerned about data security or want an app to work alongside the NHS COVID-19 app.
